Bevington Consort Live!

January 30th, 2008 · No Comments

The Bevington Consort has performed Renaissance music for viola da gambas for many years. I joined in summer 2006, and this Friday will play in my first concert with the Bevingtons in a special concert in Greensburg, PA.

The concert begins at 7:30PM, at Maplewood Presbyterian Church, 108 Woodland Road, Greensburg, PA 15601, and it’s free!

We’ll be performing music from England in the time of Queen Elizabeth 1, the time of Shakespeare and Marlowe when English drama flourished, and the time of daring adventurers like Francis Drake who conquered the high seas and discovered new lands. Composers include Byrd, Holborne, Dering, Lawes and more.

Shenandoah

Back in November, my friends Mike & Matt Moore and I hiked through Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. The leaves were amazing. Unfortunately, we didn’t see any bears so we didn’t have a chance to practice the art of intimidation on them, which we’d been practicing. Here’s a video of our journey:
